Feed the Need

Locally Owned HVAC & plumbing company joining the fight against ending local hunger

Feed the Need 2022 | Kotz Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing

WATERFORD, MI – Kotz Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is teaming up with Lighthouse of Oakland County, a local food bank and shelter, and media vendors in an effort to reduce the high percentage of food insecurity within the Waterford, Clarkston and surrounding communities.

Whenever a family’s access to adequate food is limited by a lack of income and other resources, they are considered to be food insecure. According to Feeding America, food insecurity within our local communities affects 1 in 8 people, sadly that accounts for 1 in 6 children. That’s too many of our neighbors going hungry on a regular basis.

Kotz Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is aiming to lower that number. For every new Red Carpet Maintenance plan that is purchased, Kotz will be donating 7 meals to Lighthouse with a goal of 10,000 meals by the end of the year.

“With over 80 years of combined experience, Lighthouse aims to be a Beacon of Hope to our neighbors who seek support for the most basic of needs. Many of these people are seeking help for the first time.”

Zak Kotz, the General Manager of Kotz, is very excited for this partnership. “All of us at Kotz pride ourselves in giving back to our community, and I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to do that.”

A special thanks goes out to those helping the Kotz Heating, Cooling & Plumbing team make this possible:

Oakland Press, Sherman Publications, Waterford Chamber of Commerce
