Local plumbing & HVAC company join the fight against ending local hunger

MONTGOMERY, MI – Kotz Heating, Cooling & Plumbing has teamed up with Lighthouse of Oakland County and local media vendors in an effort to reduce the high percentage of food insecurity within the Waterford community and surrounding areas. When a family’s access to adequate food is limited by multiple reasons, they are considered to be food insecure. In our area, 1 in 8 people are affected by food insecurity, including 1 in 6 children. Kotz Heating Cooling & Plumbing are working diligently within the community to help reduce that number.

In an effort to increase equipment efficiency, lower utility costs and increase the lifetime of the critical systems in their home, Kotz offers their customers the ability to sign-up for a preventative maintenance plan called the Red Carpet Maintenance Program. For every Red Carpet Maintenance Program sold, Kotz donates 7 meals to partnered food banks. In 2022, Kotz had a goal of donating 10,000 meals to the cause. They exceeded that goal and donated 11,739 meals. Their goal for 2023 is 15,000.  Zak Kotz, General Manager, is very excited about the success of the partnership, “All of us at Kotz pride ourselves on giving back to our community and I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to do that.”

A special thanks goes out to the local media sponsors that are donating advertising to help the Kotz Heating, Cooling & Plumbing team make a difference: Oakland Press, Sherman Publications and the Waterford Chamber of Commerce. Together we can make a difference in our community. Visit kotzheating.com, or contact us today to learn more about how you can join the movement.
